Tienda Esquipulas
From a designer born in Guatemala, the Tienda Esquipulas store was created in Paris in 2002 and moved to Montmartre in 2007. The brand has a real desire to create an ethnic and fair market like the “tiendas” (the shops) found in Guatemala. All the objects tell about the popular culture and traditions of Mexico and Guatemala and have a history and provenance.
The quality and originality of the products are ensured by the close ties of the designer with the manufacturers and artisans at the origin of the objects sold. Today, she works regularly with nearly 50 artisans from Guatemala and from Mexico.
But a "tienda" is also a place of life and sharing. Each year, the designer organizes in her store meeting events around the culture of Mexico and Guatemala: the famous feast of the dead, but also Mexican loteria draws, or even exhibitions and sales of creators of objects inspired by Guatemalan and Mexican cultures and traditions.
